I have completed training in psychodynamic psychotherapy (1,250 hours)
I have been practising psychotherapy for at least 3 years since completing training
I have taken part in at least 2 PTPPd conferences or symposia
I have a written positive opinion from a certified PTPPd supervisor

Requirements — training hours
Within the 1,250 hours of theoretical and practical training, you must demonstrate the following minimums:
Theory of psychopathology from a psychodynamic perspective
Supervision conducted by an ordinary PTPPd member, including at least 30 individual presentations
Personal psychotherapeutic experience (training therapy) in the psychodynamic paradigm
Clinical placement in a facility providing psychotherapy
Written work
A paper is submitted to the Certification Committee describing an example of psychotherapeutic work with a patient with evident psychopathology — psychotic, personality-related or neurotic.
Adult (over 18)
A process of at least 3 years, mostly after completing training. Max. 25 pages.
Adolescent (12–18)
Requires 3 years of experience with adolescents, supervision and sessions at least once a week. Max. 25 pages.
Child (4–11)
Requires 3 years of experience with children. Therapy completed at least 2 years ago, or 3 years ongoing. Max. 25 pages.

Documents to submit
The Certification Committee only reviews complete applications. Before sending, make sure you have all 11 documents:
A description of the psychotherapy process (up to 25 pages, according to the guidelines in Section 3)
Diploma of completion of psychodynamic training
Two certificates: 1,250 h of training and 250 h of personal experience
A recommendation from a certified PTPPd supervisor
List of training hours (form available for download below)
Completed candidate questionnaire (form available for download below)
Declaration of compliance with the PTPPd Code of Ethics (form available for download)
Certificate of ordinary membership and paid membership fees (from the PTPPd secretariat)
Proof of payment of the certification fee
Proof of participation in at least 2 PTPPd conferences or symposia
For child/adolescent therapy: additional certificates of training in this area

+ PLN 400 after passing the procedure (before the certificate is issued)

How to submit an application
Gather all the documents from the list in Section 4
Check every item. The Committee returns incomplete applications.
Send the documents by traditional post (1 copy)
Address: PTPPd, ul. Smolki 5/103a, 30-513 Kraków, marked „Komisja Certyfikacyjna”.
At the same time, send scans by email
All documents (the supervisor’s recommendation, the questionnaire, the case description) in a single message to: kc@ptppd.pl
Wait for confirmation of receipt from the Committee
After checking completeness, the Committee confirms receipt and begins reviewing the application.
What next?
After a positive review by the Certification Committee:
The Committee recommends you to the PTPPd Main Board
The Committee’s positive decision is forwarded with a recommendation to the Main Board.
The Main Board votes on awarding the certificate
The vote takes place at the next Board meeting after the recommendation is issued.
You pay the remaining PLN 400 fee and receive the certificate
After the Board’s positive decision, you pay the rest of the fee and collect the certificate.
The certificate is valid for 7 years. After this period it requires renewal. Check the renewal requirements →
Questions
Yes, one of the conditions for certification is having the status of an ordinary PTPPd member. If you are still in training, you can join as a supporting member and, after completing your training, change your status to ordinary.
People who completed their training before 2019 are assessed according to the requirements in force at that time. Contact the Certification Committee at kc@ptppd.pl to determine which criteria apply to you.
Yes, provided the therapy has lasted at least 3 years (or 2 years for child therapy that is no longer ongoing). The work should be described as if it were a closed stage — with reflection on its course and the results so far.
The standard review time is 3 to 6 months from the acceptance of a complete application. If documents need to be supplemented, the deadline starts again from the moment the supplements are received.
The Committee always indicates which elements need to be supplemented or clarified. The candidate has 30 days to send the missing documents. Returning the application is not a refusal — you can apply again without additional fees for re-review.
